In his well-known model, Meredith Belbin distinguishes between team roles. In total, he assumes nine roles in teams that should always be filled. As a professor of psychology, he dealt with the behavior of members in teams. He found that they occupy certain typical role patterns from which a team structure emerges. With the role model according to Belbin, teams can determine their strengths. However, they can also analyze where important fields of action (roles) are unfilled and where there is potential for optimization.
